First off let me say thank you for a wonderful product. I grew up with windows and am very comfortable with it. I know Linux is excellent but even after a few dozen installs I never got used to it.
I set up a testing ground for my server at doublefresh.is-a-geek.com
Apache works, php works, mysql works and for a few days the ftp program was also working. What could I have done that would shut down the ftp service?
I created the user account kenbrown with the login lindenmi as a test account and it worked fine.
Now when I try to connect with wsftp I get the message
"This could be caused by any of the following reasons:
Your network connection is down.
The host address is incorrect.
The server you are attempting to connect with is not available.
Click the Details button to view information from the connection log"
Finding Host ftp://doublefresh.is-a-geek.com ...
Address lookup of "ftp://doublefresh.is-a-geek.com" failed. It may be misspelled, or your computer may not be connected to the network or Internet.
Also check that your DNS and local name servers are properly configured and responding.
But when you log onto doublefresh.is-a-geek.com you can clearly see that the site is up and you can log onto the ftp admin page.
Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated. |
