XMail version : 1.22, running as non-root
OS : FreeBSD 5.4

Hi,

Yesterday, I accidentally added an IP address from the SMTP log to the (empty) 'server local spamlist'. I deleted this IP address immediately. After that, XMail went crazy by reporting all in- and outgoing mail as spam. Eeh...what was going wrong here?

After a few minutes I noticed that the file 'SPAMMERS.TAB' disapeared from the MailRoot directory. Propably, deleting the last (and only) IP address from the 'server local spamlist' using PHPXMail, caused the file "SPAMMERS.TAB" being deleted. And when XMail cannot access this file (because it wasn't there), XMail seems to go in some sort of panic-mode.

Anyway, a "touch SPAMMERS.TAB" did the job to make sure XMail could do its job again.

Is this a known problem? If so, is this a bug in PHPXmail or is it in XMail itself?

No, it's not a known problem.

I will investigate about it when I will return from holidays and can put my hands on a keyboard.

Stay tuned.

Thanks

The bug is fixed for both the two spam lists.

Changes are available in the next 1.5 version (available on SourceForge as beta rel. in the CVS section).
